Tami at Vintage Connections hosted a altered matchbox swap last month. Tami drew my name and created the most amazing matchbox for me!
I love everything about it! There are so many perfect details.
She filled the matchbox with lots of wonderful goodies, and even sent along an extra pumpkin bag of goodies. Thank you, Tami!
I created a matchbox for Kim. Early in my search I found some vintage Halloween pin up photos online. A photo of Dusty Anderson seemed perfect. (She's still living and is 97, according to Wikipedia! I'll bet she's still beautiful, too. I wasn't able to locate a photo credit.)
The original photo background included paper clouds and a black moon. I cut this moon face from a piece of scrapbook paper and used Stickles on the eyes, mouth, and around the edge. I glittered the clothing, shoes and hat, and added rhinestones for a bracelet and on the shoes. The broomstick was a feathered pick that I'd had for a while. It was a bit big, so I cut it down to fit. The white corrugated paper on the box is glittered, too, although it's hard to tell in the photos.
The box was filled with craft supplies (including some lace added after the photo) and sent off to Kim.
Swaps make me happy! You can see the other creations for this swap on Tami's Vintage Connections blog here.
